Happy International Women’s Month! This month is very important because it allows us to highlight all the phenomenal contributions that women have made to our society.
One of the biggest contributions especially to Reggaeton music this month, was Natti Natasha’s new song “Las Nenas” featuring Farina, Cazzu and La Duraca. This song is a woman empowerment song and what a great time to release the song during International Women’s Month. Natti Natasha’s selection of women, features OG’s and up and coming Latina Reggaeton and Trap artists.
The song was released on all music platforms on March 4th and I have been playing nonstop on my Spotify. Even the music video shows such woman power within the lyrics and what they are wearing. My favorite lyrics were “ Y no andamo' buscando un sugar daddy, Si tamo' piloteando un Bugatti” which in English basically means one is not looking for a sugar daddy since they are piloting a Bugatti. I love this because who needs a man to give us money when we can provide the luxury things in life by ourselves?
The music video was filmed in Miami and showed women having fun, dancing and embracing their sexuality. The music video was so dope with one of my favorite dancers Yelus, who teaches Twerk classes here in Miami. She is seen twerking in the song as herself and in a bunny suit. I have taken a class with her and she is super nice and a great teacher.
For several years, there has been anticipation for an all Latina reggaeton collab, but we just never knew who exactly would be on this or when. Natti Natasha has delivered us what we have all been waiting for with a dope line up of Farina, Cazzu and La Duraca to bring us “Las Nenas.” If you haven’t listened to it yet, go listen it here.
